happiness in a hopeless week

the loveliest things have been appearing on my door step lately...

and they have such impeccable timing.

because they arrive when i'm most in need of a smile.

a couple weeks ago, i endured a really bad week.

the only thing that brightened the dark cave i found myself in was the smell of blooming lilies.

so much so, that i'm not embarrassed to say,

i carried them with me into every room i spent time in.

because pretty things shouldn't wither away in a room all by themselves.

but when they did wither and fall, new ones arrived...

just in time to brighten a dim week of work stress and midterm tests.
