spring break tourists are here, so we had full boats (max is 80 people) each trip. that's 80 people to help onto the boat, pass out gear to, lead on snorkel tours, serve drinks to, cater to constantly--3 times a day.
and when there's that much work to do, you gotta be in tip-top shape, mentally and physically. so what do i do the very first full boat of the week? i fall in front of everyone while docking the boat, of course!
we were dropping off our first 80 after a morning trip. everyone watched me dock the boat and applauded how well i did it. when i jumped from the dock back to the boat to let the people off, i fell HARD right at the stern--all 80 still watching.
i skinned my knee on the rough no-slip flooring and immediately started bleeding. i also somehow managed to cut and sprain my middle finger during the fall.
so that made the rest of the week super fun--leading snorkel tours with a bloody knee. i got so tired of people asking how i hurt myself that i started telling them it was a shark bite. "don't worry, you're in good hands guys... except this one with the sprained finger... i guess that's not such a good hand."
a couple days later, delirious after work, i slipped on wet tile at home and gave myself a few new bruises to add to the collection.
and last night me and a few friends drunkenly hopped a fence. i woke up with a bruise the size of my fist on my right thigh. awesome.
i thought about posting a picture as proof, in case you're thinking she can't possibly be THAT clumsy. but i decided it wouldn't be pretty. so here's a picture of marilyn with a boo boo on her leg. you're welcome.
today's a no-ship day! so we're off to go spear fishing for lobsters at water island! because i couldn't possibly injure myself spear fishing right? haha!
