the first day of my life

last tuesday I put on my blue (and green) suede shoes and I boarded the plane. I savored the last dirty chai ill have for quite a while and watched the sun rise in Charlotte. then I was handed a ticket to St Thomas. I had a row to myself, so I sat at the window and watched the navy blue of the ocean turn turquoise as we reached the edge of the island. "Welcome hooome," radical face sang in my ears.
