despite the bittersweetness of it, i was pretty stoked about my last day of work. because i knew i'd have one week left on the island to just play. a friend of mine actually branded it a "vacation". and boy did i like the sound of that.
but of course, the very next day after my last day of work, i woke up sick. a can't sleep, can't stand, don't want to eat anything kind of sick. perfect timing, stefanie.
it's like my body is protesting my decision to quit and move away.
so i've been pretty much bed ridden since sunday morning. which means i've done nothing but nap and watch really depressing indie romance movies: blue valentine, like crazy, and take this waltz. anyone seen them? i've been wanting to watch each of them for a while now, but i probably could've spaced it out better. watching all 3 in a row maybe made this girl never want to get married.
they were really pretty good though. so very quirky and cute and sad and real. the cinematography in take this waltz was awesome, and blue valentine had ryan gosling (enough said), but like crazy was definitely my favorite. it was just spot on.
anyways, i'm off to watch something uplifting now! and maybe, if i feel up to it, i'll start packing my apartment...
